What I would say is take time, read the information, let yourself feel all the emotions.
After getting more information I was calm and said to myself, “OK, I will fight against acromegaly.
If he would have told me I think you have acromegaly I would have asked him what that is.
You have to face up to having a life-long condition and having negative feelings solves nothing
